Price controls outrage India's pharma industry

India's burgeoning pharma industry is engaged in a very public dispute with the government over a new set of proposed price controls that the industry says amounts to a policy of nationalization. Chemicals Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, though, believes drug companies need to have more compassion for the poor. Paswan complained that even as the drug industry grows, millions of India's citizens can't afford pharmaceuticals. Industry leaders say too many government controls left the fate of the drug developers in government hands.
