Top 10 Medical Device Venture Capital Deals of 2010

Welcome to FierceMedicalDevice's first annual look at the top 10 VC deals of the year. Venture capital investment in the medical device industry fell 9 percent in 2010, ending the year as the fourth largest investment sector with $2.3 billion going into 324 deals. That's up slightly over 2009, when medical devices ranked third among all industries.

With a $60 million round to fund late-stage studies of a system to treat abdominal aortic aneurysms, Trivascular came out on top last year. Home Dialysis Plus ($50 million), Tandem Diabetic Care ($43.81M), Intrapace ($49.77 million) and IDev Technologies ($46M) rounded out the top five.
