Japan's PENTAX Lifecare, a division of the Hoya Corporation, has launched EB-1990i, the world's first HD video bronchoscope, at the European Respiratory Society annual congress in Amsterdam.
EB-1990i is the latest in the family of HD endoscopes from PENTAX. It helps physicians clearly visualize the bronchial airways for increased clinical confidence in their diagnosis.
"The PENTAX EB-1990i HD bronchoscope provides a significant improvement in image resolution over standard systems, with clear enhancement of anatomical details of the bronchial mucosa like longitudinal elastic bands, mucosal glands and vascularity," explains Dr. Pierfranco Foccoli, director of Respiratory Endoscopy at the Spedali Civili di Brescia in Italy, in a statement.
