Hologic CEO resigns, citing personal reasons

Jack Cumming

Hologic ($HOLX) says Robert Cascella will be stepping down as president and CEO for personal reasons. Jack Cumming will replace him. Does the name sound familiar? It should. Cumming led the Massachusetts diagnostics and medical imaging company as president from 2001 through September 2003, CEO from 2001 to 2009 and chairman from 2002 to 2007 and then again from 2008 to 2011. Board members recognized Cascella for expanding the company's presence in women's health diagnostics and noted he'd remain as an adviser through November 2013 before ending nearly 11 years in various roles with the company. Cumming will evaluate Hologic's strategies and policies moving forward, according to the announcement. Hologic's 2013 third-quarter results will be out on Aug. 5, 2013. Release
