> The NFL, GE ($GE) and sports equipment maker Under Armour joined the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to launch an innovation competition to advance materials that better absorb energy. Dubbed, the Head Health Challenge III, the awards are for $2 million and is part of the larger $60 million multi-year initiative announced last year. Under the deal, OCD will pay up to $59 million and it will also invest $10 million in the startup. Release
