Covidien snags FDA OK for a camera-equipped feeding tube

Covidien ($COV) is gearing up to launch its Kangaroo feeding tube in the U.S. after picking up FDA clearance for the device, which is outfitted with a camera that provides real-time images to physicians. The disposable instrument uses Covidien's Integrated Real-time Imaging System (IRIS) technology to allow doctors to view and save video footage of patient anatomy, giving them sight in a procedure that is often done blindly, according to the company.
