Two pivotal trials of the Oculeve Intranasal Tear Neurostimulator both met their primary and secondary efficacy endpoints. Allergan ($AGN) acquired the device last year in its purchase of startup Oculeve for $125 million plus undisclosed commercial milestone payments. It plans to submit a PMA application to the FDA during the second half of 2016. The device is a noninvasive nasal neurostimulation device that increases tear production in patients with dry eye disease. It includes a tiny device that is inserted into the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and another inserted under the skin below the eyebrow.
