OpenClinica gets case report form library

Users of the OpenClinica electronic data capture system have another free resource at their disposal: the OpenClinica Case Report Form Library. The web-based library, sponsored by Akaza Research, helps users find, share and re-use clinical trial case report forms. It contains a collection of expert-reviewed CRFs based on the Clinical Data Acquisition Standards Harmonization standard, as well as a growing collection of forms contributed by members of the OpenClinica community.

The library contains both "highly curated CRFs" reviewed by domain experts and a collection of forms contributed by members of the OpenClinica community, according to an announcement. The CRF Library is free to registered community members.

Last fall, Akaza launched OpenClinica 3.0 software for electronic data capture and clinical data management. The open-source system accepts data via both CRF and lab system import. It includes tools for data management and trial monitoring, the company says; the software supports CDISC standards and complies with 21 CFR 11.
