Calvert Labs is offering clients the same kind of 24/7 on-demand smartphone access to study information that's available to the rest of the world for news and sports. It's linked a project-tracking iPhone application with a near-real-time and on-demand filtered information source for preclinical researchers.
The app gives users access to study schedules and progress with updates pushed by the CRO. It also provides for direct contact with study directors by phone or e-mail.
The related website will include a client section that replicates all of the data available via the smartphone app, according to the company. Clients access the same project data on the road as they do in the office.
Both app (available at the iTunes store) and client website section are secured by VeriSign.
