Accelrys Provides Freeslate with Exclusive License to Market and Develop Software for High Throughput Research Applications
Freeslate expands rights for Lab Execution and Analysis (LEA) software.
Sunnyvale, CA and San Diego, CA (PRWEB) April 18, 2013
Freeslate, Inc., the leading provider of high throughput research systems, and Accelrys, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACCL), a leading provider of scientific innovation lifecycle management software, today announced that Accelrys has exclusively licensed the RAS and Polyview components of the Lab Execution and Analysis (LEA) software suite to Freeslate for automated research applications. Freeslate, owner of the Library Studio® and Automation Studio™ modules of LEA, will now have the exclusive right to develop, sell, and support the entire LEA software suite for high throughput research. LEA will also be integrated with the Accelrys Enterprise Platform to include high throughput research data and insights as part of customers' overall information architecture.
The LEA software suite is the market-leading software solution for supporting high throughput research. It creates a one-of-a-kind, integrated software environment that spans the entire experimental process, from design of experiments, to the execution of experiments and collection of data, to the analysis and presentation of data. The software supports integrated multi-instrument automation and experiment control with real-time data collection and data processing through a single application.
The Accelrys Enterprise Platform is a unique, scientifically-aware software platform that enhances organizational efficiency, improves collaboration, and speeds innovation in lab-to-plant processes, enabling organizations to bring better products to market more quickly and efficiently. Using the Accelrys Enterprise Platform, companies can integrate all of their laboratory tools and applications to accelerate innovation and gain competitive advantage.
"We are very excited that we are now in a position to evolve the entire LEA solution suite to meet the needs of our customers," commented John S. Senaldi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Freeslate. "This is one more example of our long-term commitment to develop a complete solution for high throughput research. When the powerful LEA software is combined with our laboratory automation systems, it ultimately translates to smarter, faster, and more efficient research."
"Effective, efficient, end-to-end innovation is critical to the competitiveness of science-driven organizations," said Max Carnecchia, President and Chief Executive Officer, Accelrys. "Accelrys is committed to working closely with our customers and partners to close the innovation productivity gap. The combination of LEA and the Accelrys Enterprise Platform is a game-changer for organizations looking to deliver more competitive products, sooner and more cost-effectively to market."
Within the LEA software suite, Library Studio® allows scientists to design complex experiments for a variety of applications, including polymer formulation, catalyst synthesis, pharmaceutical API salt selection and crystallization, and biologics formulation. Automation Studio™ improves R&D productivity by automating and controlling multiple laboratory instruments. The experiment design, processing data, and analytical data are then stored in a centralized, enterprise database where they can be searched and reported on. Overall, the LEA software suite handles experiment design, data collection and storage, real-time data processing, data analysis, and searching and reporting – all within a single, easy-to-use environment.
