Boston University, MRC Technology developing anti-inflammatory antibody

Boston University and London-based technology organization MRC Technology are partnering to advance an antibody for use in treatment of inflammatory diseases and ischemic reperfusion injury, tissue damage caused by a sudden loss of blood. Developed by BU, the anti-IL-16 antibody could potentially be used to treat a range of inflammatory diseases, including Crohn's disease, lupus and asthma. The project is funded in part through a Biomedical Catalyst award of £577,000 ($919,000), granted to MRC Technology by the U.K.'s Technology Strategy Board in 2012. More
