$3M initiative will focus on finding new drugs for Alzheimer's

In an effort to help speed new drugs to market, the New York City-based Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation and the U.K.'s Alzheimer's Society are collaborating to launch a $3 million initiative that will provide funding for research in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. According to a press release, the partnership intends to fund projects up to $1.5 million each focused on drug repurposing, leveraging existing scientific evidence and research to accelerate the drug development process. Research proposals are being accepted through June 5.
