Vial taps Ankit Agarwal to fill VP of operations position at the CRO

San Francisco-based CRO Vial has hired Ankit Agarwal to fill the position of vice president of operations at the startup.

Agarwal brings more than 10 years of experience to the company, having served as an operations leader in his last two positions that included working for large multinational and startup organizations, the company said in a May 16 press release.

In the new job at Vial, Agarwal will be tasked with creating effective and economical systems that impact the company’s present and future demands. The aim is to ensure the implementation of efficient processes with a focus on enhancing operations to meet overall business objectives.

“Running operations at a rapidly growing organization, such as Vial, is both challenging and rewarding, with the need to balance structure with flexibility and speed,” Agarwal said in the release. “I’m looking forward to helping build an operationally excellent, robust, and tech-driven organization that is ready to meet the current and future needs of the business.”

Founded in 2020, Vial reeled in $67 million in series B funding last November. The company said it would use the funds to expand its global footprint. Vial, like many in the CRO field, has been working to change how clinical trials are conducted following the COVID-19 pandemic and the widespread adoption of new digital technology.
