Sitero, CRIO partner to streamline clinical trial data for sites and sponsors

Florida-based CRO Sitero is partnering with healthcare technology firm CRIO to help streamline clinical trial data that can bog down sites and sponsors.

The two companies, like many in the industry, are teaming to use new digital technologies and respond to the demand for more decentralized clinical trials in the wake of the pandemic by removing manual, redundant and error-prone tasks across the clinical lifecycle, they said in a Dec. 7 press release.

Financial terms of the partnership weren’t disclosed.

The companies will focus on integrating their capabilities to help capture and manage data electronically from the source while avoiding redundancies in order to improve real-time management and monitoring of trials.

"Our unified solution will allow us to execute our trials more efficiently and allow us to be a strategic partner to CRIO's site customers by providing data entry, query resolution and administrative support services that aim to free up research teams to focus on critical, value-added activities so they can bring treatments to market faster,” Sankesh Abbhi, Sitero’s chief executive, said in the release.

Boston-based CRIO, which was founded in 2018, hauled in a $9 million series B financing in January during a funding round that was led by Abbhi Capital. Other participants included Rally Ventures and NXT Ventures.
