Clinical research company nPhase has closed a $30 million series D financing round to expand its AI-native clinical data platform.
The company will use the funds for the nPhase.ai platform, which launched in September as a way to connect the clinical data lifecycle from study startup through regulatory submission.
The series D was led by Viking Global Investors, and marks the first financing for nPhase since 2017, according to a Nov. 2 release.
“This investment will accelerate our next phase: expanding agentic AI capabilities that puts data to work through intelligent workflows,” CEO Scott Climes said in the release. “Our vision is to fundamentally transform clinical research by moving beyond managing data aggregation to intelligent execution that accelerates life-saving therapeutics to patients.”
The nPhase.ai platform mines data from a variety of sources in order to standardize and validate clinical trial data across the study ecosystem. It then creates an AI-ready foundation designed to give teams near real-time visibility into safety and operational trends, according to the company. The ultimate goal is to reduce submission timelines from months to weeks while keeping humans in control of key decisions.
The Florida-based company, which was founded in 2014, also developed REDCap Cloud, an electronic data capture platform used by academic and non-profit research sites through a licensing collaboration with Vanderbilt University.
