Medable teams up with Pluto Health to simplify, speed trial recruitment

Trial software company Medable will partner with health data provider Pluto Health to simplify and speed up the patient recruitment and retention process.

The goal of the partnership also involves increasing access to clinical research and improving data quality, the companies said in an Oct. 3 press release.

Additionally, Medable and Pluto will focus on long-term follow-up with participants once a trial is over and notify them of any future studies relevant to their specific health needs. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

“Together, our organizations will leverage advanced technologies to reduce inefficiencies from trial execution and deliver better site and patient experiences while expanding access to clinical research to more patients when they need it most,” Michelle Longmire, Medable’s co-founder and CEO, said in the release.

In January, Medable partnered with the recently formed nonprofit Every Cure to support research in repurposing existing drugs to treat rare diseases. Under the Every Cure partnership, Medable signed on to provide specialized software and services to conduct global, remote clinical trials of approved drugs in other indications.
