Genesis Drug Discovery, which is part of Genesis Global Group, acquired Montreal-based JSS Medical Research to expand its CRO services reach.
JSS has regional offices in Bogotá, Columbia; Faridabad, India; and Warsaw, Poland, where it provides pre- and post-approval clinical development services for pharma, biotech, nutraceutical and medical device companies. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
With the deal, Genesis aims to expand its drug research and discovery offering by leveraging JSS' expertise in order to supplement its own platform of services, which range from clinical trial and data management to trial monitoring and safety reporting, Genesis said in a May 10 press release.
“By adding JSS Medical Research's sector expertise, we continue to differentiate our capabilities and significantly enhance our clinical services portfolio worldwide,” Eli Mordechai, Ph.D., Genesis Global Group’s CEO, said in the release. “We are confident that together we will create a more powerful platform to support the approval of life-saving therapeutics.”
Consolidation in the CRO industry has been back on a steady pace after the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and its disruption of clinical trials began to recede last year.
