Advanced Clinical names Karra as VP of oncology unit

Advanced Clinical has tapped Ravi Karra, M.D., to be vice president of the CRO’s oncology unit.

Karra, who specializes in brain tumors, melanoma and head and neck cancer, has an extensive background in developing strategies for designing and running clinical trials in several tumor types, including rare cancers like glioblastoma, salivary gland, thyroid and uveal melanoma, the company said in a Nov. 30 press release.

Additionally, Karra has worked closely with regulatory bodies such as the FDA and EMA and has been involved in innovative trial designs that use translational research data, including molecular and imaging biomarkers.

“Having worked in multiple tumor types with immunotherapies, targeted therapies, and imaging diagnostics across all stages of development and marketing, I look forward to leveraging my expertise as a clinical developer in oncology for the benefit of patients and our customers across the globe,” Karra said in the press release.

Advanced Clinical, which is privately held, unveiled a new branding effort and launched its new website in early November as part of the CRO’s efforts to build a “Better Clinical Experience” for mid-market biopharma and partners across the globe.
