The UK's Shire PLC has filed with the FDA for marketing approval for Mesavance, a once-daily mesalamine therapy for ulcerative colitis. This is the fourth new marketing application from Shire in 2005. Shire officials say they'll file for European approval of Mesavance in early 2006.
