Numira Biosciences, Inc. Adds Veteran Orthopaedics Researcher Dr. Heather Ramsay As Scientific Director

SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Numira, a leader in high resolution, 3D imaging services, visualization software, and cloud computing for the life science market, today announced the appointment of Heather Ramsay, Ph.D. as Scientific Director.

With nearly 20 years of experience in biomedical research, working predominately in the fields of human skeletal biology, orthopedics, and wound healing, Dr. Ramsay joins the Numira team, broadly providing scientific expertise in support of the sales team. Her research has included both animal models and human skeletal remains, modern and archaeological.

Prior to Numira, Heather's professional experience includes 2 years as a Principal Investigator at Histion, a CRO that specializes in hard tissue and device histology. Additionally, she served 4 years as Director of Orthopaedics at MPI Research, 4 years as Study Director in Orthopaedics at MDS Pharma Services, and 10 years as an academic researcher in skeletal biology at both the University of Missouri-Columbia and Wake Forest University. Heather received a Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology, focusing on the bio-behavioral emergence of osteoporosis in humans, from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master's in Biological Anthropology from Wake Forest University.
