Merck cuts 51 jobs as it closes Inspire site

On August 31, Merck will officially close the Raleigh, NC headquarters of Inspire Pharmaceuticals, an eye drug specialist that the company bought in April for $430 million. At the time of the purchase, Inspire had 60 employees; Merck said 51 positions would be eliminated when the facility closes later this summer. Report
