Human Genome Sciences of Rockville, Maryland, is expected to announce that the federal government is preparing to inspect its experimental anthrax vaccine with an eye to buying up to 100,000 doses of the treatment. The government will pay $1.8 million for a third of an ounce of ABthrax with an option for a much larger delivery if they're satisfied that it can create a defense against an anthrax attack. The drug is designed to stir the body's immune system to ward off anthrax spores.
