Bill Gottfried began his career in the Arabian-Persian Gulf serving as the Supply Officer and Petroleum Inspector for the U.S. Navy responsible for petroleum logistics and tanker operations in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran, and Yemen. He was recruited by the Nixon Administration to join the Federal Energy Office, forerunner to the Department of Energy, and worked through the Nixon, Ford, and Carter Administrations in Washington, D.C. on U.S. Government energy programs. Following Government service, he worked with management consultants Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Inc. in Washington, D.C. and Houston and with a Houston-based executive search firm prior to forming Gottfried International.
