Foamtec International Takes the Strain Out of Cleanroom Mopping

OCEANSIDE, Calif., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Foamtec International LLC today introduced PharmaMOP(TM), the cleanroom industry's lightest weight mop for cleaning and disinfecting aseptic manufacturing areas. At 485 grams, PharmaMOP(TM) sets the standard for ergonomics, allowing implementation of ceiling, wall and floor cleaning SOPs without strain. Key design elements include a patent-pending mop head that assures compliance with contact time SOPs when applying disinfectants in cleanrooms.

"At a major Pharmaceutical customer, PharmaMOP(TM) replaced expensive and heavy string mops, re-washable flat mops and foam mops which has eased training and improved SOP compliance," said Nam Chantepie, Operations Manager of Controlled Contamination Services. "Customers are excited about PharmaMOP's control and ease of use it affords the operator in applying disinfectants to walls, ceilings and non-skid flooring," said Brian Thaler, VP of Marketing for Foamtec International.

Central to PharmaMOP's performance is a patent-pending mop head constructed of cleanroom foam enclosed in cleanroom polyester or microfiber fabric. This tri-layer design eliminates the need for a wringer and enables operators to apply the proper amount of disinfectants to better comply with decontamination SOPs. According to John Lindsay, President of the Aseptic Training Institute, "It is common for Pharmaceutical and Medical Device manufacturers to need multiple mopping systems but PharmaMOP's light weight and large surface area allows them to consolidate mop types, easing operator training and SOP compliance."

"European Pharmaceutical manufacturers have requested a light-weight ergonomic solution," said Linda Vereycken, CEO of CCSbe. "Existing mops, being so heavy, hinder operators in properly implementing cleaning SOP's. The PharmaMOP(TM) system will be a benefit to our customers."
