FDA OK's Valeant's Zelapar for Parkinson's

Valeant Pharmaceuticals has won FDA approval for Zelapar as a combinational therapy for Parkinson's eight months after receiving an approvable letter for the therapy. Valeant has offered data that shows that Zelapar in combination with approved Parkinson's drugs reduces the amount of time patients have difficulty functioning. Valeant acquired Zelapar more than two years ago when it bought the U.S. arm of the U.K.'s Amarin. It agreed to pay Amarin $8 million on the FDA's approval of Zelapar.
