CED Announces Confirmed Pharma and Investor Attendees for 2011 Biotech/Life Science Conference

North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue to provide opening remarks

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CED, the southeast’s largest entrepreneurial support organization, today announced North Carolina Governor Beverly Perdue is scheduled to provide opening remarks at its 20th annual Biotech/Life Science Conference. The two-day event, hosted in partnership with the North Carolina Biotechnology Center and NCBIO, is being held February 21-22, 2011, at the Raleigh Convention Center. Currently tracking ahead of 2010 registration numbers, attendees from nearly 50 pharmaceutical companies and investor funds are registered to participate.

The conference has grown exponentially since its inception in 1991. In 2010, the event drew 56 unique venture capital funds of 100 investors, including 43 from outside North Carolina. To date, 65 unique venture capital funds are confirmed to attend this year’s GlaxoSmithKline’s Venture Day.
