Animal rights attack prompts biotech broker to resign

British biotech Phytopharm has lost its broker--Canaccord Capital--after an animal rights group firebombed its finance director's car last month. Animal rights extremists say the attack (no one was hurt in the incident) was sparked by Phytopharm's business relationship with Huntingdon Life Sciences, which uses animals in drug research. The Animal Liberation Front claimed responsibility for the attack and promised new skirmishes ahead as it targets companies linked to Huntingdon Life Sciences.
