Altana buys Eckhart in $768M buyout

Germany's Altana has struck a deal to buy Eckhart, a chemical and pigments maker, for $768 million. After the buyout is complete, Altana plans to spin off the company as Altana Chemie. The deal should be completed by the end of the year.
