DEERFIELD, IL (September 1, 2015) - Advanced Clinical, a full-service global CRO, functional outsourcing, and strategic staffing solutions provider, announced the creation of Advanced Clinical University and the addition of Melissa Mauriber, Vice President, Clinical Operations Quality and Talent Development, to lead the new educational program.
In 2013, CNN Money reported that Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) ranked number nine out of 100 "Best Jobs in America". While the demand for exceptional Clinical Research Associates remains high, there continues to be a shortage of quality candidates who are able to fill the open and progressing positions in the industry. Advanced Clinical University was created to respond to the need to hire and develop high-quality CRAs with key skills sets in Risk-Based Monitoring and complex trials such as in the areas of oncology, CNS and rare diseases. Advanced Clinical University will attract talented graduates with life science degrees and provide extensive theoretical and hands-on training in the evolving role of a Clinical Research Associate.
Leading Advanced Clinical University, Melissa Mauriber brings over 21 years of clinical research and clinical monitoring experience to Advanced Clinical inclusive of risk-based monitoring expertise. Ms. Mauriber is a tenured leader and is responsible for the development, strategy, and delivery of Advanced Clinical University. Prior to joining Advanced, Melissa was the Executive Director, Clinical Monitoring at a global top 5 CRO where she was responsible for the North American clinical monitoring operations.
"Advanced Clinical continually develops new and innovative ways to deliver a better clinical experience. Through this program, we will provide comprehensive training to new entrants to the clinical research community to develop future Clinical Research Associates," said Leo Sheridan, President and CEO of Advanced. "We have listened to the industry and our customers, and with the creation of Advanced Clinical University, we are responding to the growing need for high-quality CRAs to monitor complex clinical programs with competency in Risked Based Monitoring dynamics. We are thrilled to have Melissa on board to lead this important endeavor."
