Accelrys, which makes software for drug discovery work, says it will lay off 50 workers as part of an effort to streamline operations. Accelrys announced last December that it would have to restate earnings over the past five years to properly account for the earnings from several of its contracts. The company also said it would close part of a facility it has in Cambridge, England. The cuts are designed to save Accelrys $6 million a year.
