4medica to Participate in HIMSS 2011 Interoperability Showcase

Company to demonstrate value of health information exchange and interoperability of its Integrated Health Record

Culver City, Calif., Feb. 15, 2011 -

4medica, provider of the industry's leading cloud software-as-a-service (SaaS) clinical integration platform, will collaborate with local public health organizations to demonstrate the value of health information exchange (HIE) and interoperability of its Integrated Health Record (IHR) solution at the HIMSS11 Interoperability Showcase at booth #7343 in Hall E of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., from February 20-24, 2011.

The Interoperability Showcase, which is part of the 2011 Annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference Exhibition, gives vendors, healthcare provider organizations and other industry stakeholders a critical venue to test, promote and ensure interoperability and data sharing across disparate electronic health record (EHR) systems and care settings. It uses standards created by the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) and interoperability specifications approved by The Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel.

4medica will showcase the advanced interoperability of its IHR via a use-case scenario that demonstrates public health biosurveillance monitoring. The company will showhow clinical data, including laboratory results, are exchanged and analyzed by public health agencies to support population health monitoring.

4medica qualified to participate in the Showcase at the 12th Annual IHE North America Connectathon held last month in Chicago. The Connectathon, the industry's only large-scale interoperability testing event, tests healthcare information technology systems to foster compliance with standards, EHR system connectivity and interoperable exchange of patient data.

"A key challenge facing hospitals, physicians and other industry stakeholders today is how to share patient information within and outside an organization to enhance care, population health and safety as well as reduce costs," said Oleg Bess, M.D., 4medica's CEO. "Our presence at the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase underscores our commitment to delivering interoperable solutions to help providers connect with each other and seamlessly share standardized information, enabling them to make more informed decisions and easily comply with public health and other reporting mandates."

4medica Inpatient Cloud IHR (Integrated Health Record) with 4medica's Integration Engine to connect Ambulatory EMRs, 10.11, and 4medica Ambulatory Cloud IHR (Integrated Health Record) version 10.4 are 2011/2012 compliant and have been certified by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable certification criteria for Hospitals and Eligible Providers (respectively) adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments. The unique certification numbers for each product are CC-1112-401670-1 (Inpatient Cloud IHR) and CC-1112- 401670-2 (Ambulatory Cloud IHR).

Both EHRs are modular, web-based applications that integrate laboratory, imaging, pathology, e-prescribing and inpatient data from multiple sources into a single, patient-centric record, enabling hospitals, health systems and physician practices to access more complete information anytime, anywhere. 4medica will demonstrate the IHR at HIMSS at booth #4371.
