XenoPort shares tank on mid-stage trial failure

Shares of XenoPort plunged today after the company announced that a mid-stage trial of an experimental acid reflux treatment failed to hit its endpoint. The trial tested the ability of an extended release form of arbaclofen placarbil to reduce symptoms of the ailment. Researchers noted, though, that subgroup analyses did show that patients responded to the drug. Release | Report
