Wyeth want end to customized HRT treatments

Wyeth has asked the FDA to prevent specialty pharmacies from providing customized, bio-identical hormone replacement therapies for women. Compounding pharmacists currently can come up with their own formula for HRT in order to prevent allergies or make it easier for a patient to take. But Wyeth says the procedure raises serious health risks and should be stopped. The pharmacists say that Wyeth is far more concerned with its bottom line than women's health and is looking to protect its markets for Prempro and Premphase.
