U.K. animal rights activist impact R&D
A tiny rise in the number of animal experiments underway in the U.K. has encouraged drug development experts that the field is still thriving, but one leading scientist says that many researchers have clearly been frightened away from the field by threats from animal rights extremists. Genetically modified animals were used in about a third of all the experiments.
