Trend: Drug companies focusing on ending alcohol abuse

There are now more than 50 clinical trials of new drugs that promise to help people stop drinking. Many of the new therapies block chemicals that make drinkers feel good after a drink. Such neurotransmitter imbalances are believed to be one of the root causes of alcoholism.
