Third child dies from bird flu virus in Turkey

A Turkish family has lost a third child to bird flu, the first deaths from the virus outside Asia. Health officials say that they were all exposed to sick birds for a prolonged period but want to determine if the virus may have mutated into a more communicable disease among humans. The deaths of more than 70 people from bird flu have triggered a scramble to find new treatments and stockpile Tamiflu around the world.
