Takeda dumps GVAX partnership

Cell Genesys and Takeda have mutually agreed to end development of GVAX for prostate cancer and Takeda is returning all rights to the therapy after making wind-down payments. Cell Genesys initiated two Phase III clinical trials for GVAX immunotherapy for prostate cancer in July 2004 and June 2005. Following the termination of both of those Phase III clinical trials, the company placed a hold on further development and implemented a substantial restructuring plan. Release
