SPOTLIGHT: AARP study shows drug prices outpaced inflation

Wholesale prices for brand-name prescription drugs used by older Americans rose at more than twice the rate of inflation during the year that ended March 31, the AARP says. The 6.6 percent increase was down slightly from previous price hikes but still well ahead of the general inflation rate. The biggest increases were in drugs for diabetes, high blood pressure, and other heart-disease treatments. Story
