OncoMed snares $13.9M in first round

OncoMed Pharmaceuticals of Mountain View, California, has raised $13.9 million in its first round of venture capital. Latterell Venture Partners, US Venture Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures and The Vertical Group all took part in the round. OncoMed's researchers are focusing on methods to kill cancer stem cells responsible for spreading the disease.
