Nanotech start-up offers 3D picture of a cell

Researchers at Washington University in St. Louis have launched a nanotech company--called PixelEXX Systems--which intends to advance the use of nanoarrays in drug research. The founders say that nanosensors can now produce an accurate 3D image of a cell that can measure its response to a drug.

"Nanoarrays are a new way of imaging cells," said Dr. Samuel Wickline in a statement. "A researcher can look at a living cell with nano-sized sensors to get a more detailed picture of the cell, its internal structures, and how those parts function."
