Nabi cuts jobs, explores company sale

Nabi Pharmaceuticals has axed 32 jobs as it explores the sale of all or part of the company. Nabi also has created the Nabi Biologics unit to advance the company's protein and immunological products and development pipeline and expanded the role of Dr. Raafat Fahim, senior vice president, research, technical and production operations, to include the new position of COO and general manager of the Biologics SBU. Former Nabi CEO Thomas McLain resigned from the company last February after he tangled with a prominent investor who had criticized McLain for burning through the company's cash too quickly.
