Nabi axes 33 jobs in restructuring

Nabi Biopharmaceuticals cut 33 jobs--about five percent of its workforce--from its R&D operations in Rockville, MD as it moves ahead with the creation of two new business units. The second of those units, Nabi Pharmaceuticals, is responsible for the NicVAX and StaphVAX development programs, as well as for the continuing milestone-related development obligations following the sale of PhosLo. Nabi says it expects to save about $3.3 million from the job cuts.
