More women breaking biotech's glass ceiling

Women are a rare sight at any biotech CEO conference, but Massachusetts has seen a sudden surge with three new female chiefs appointed to helm drug developers since last summer.

Abbie Celniker (photo) of Taligen Therapeutics, Bonnie Fendrock (photo) of Hepregen and Katrine Bosley (photo) of Avila Therapeutics gained recognition and top jobs in the industry after years of hard work, notes the Boston Business Journal. And the Journal says that there are plenty of more women coming up through the ranks of Bay State biotechs.

"When I was in college, I had a vision of a career at the intersection of business and science, and then I found out there was this thing called the biotech industry," Bosley told the newspaper.
