Merck CEO Richard Clark
Comments
Merck’s CEO, Richard Clark, announced that the company is creating a new division called BioVentures that will develop and sell follow on biologics. Clark said that the reason for this surprising decision was based on “the arrival of the Obama administration and renewed enthusiasm on Capitol Hill for legislation that could create an easier path for generic biotech medicines.”
I think Merck should buy BiogenIdec(with many smart scientists with skills & expertise for biologics).
I think Merck should also buy all small start up biologics companies to grow "biologics" inside Merck's lab. Give them freedom (not money) to express their "innovation" genes.
It will take a long time to train, build & grow a "Biologics' tree from a seed.
Buy many "biologics" trees and harvest many "biologics" fruits asap.
Time which cannot be recycled and is the most important thing & money cannot buy time and innovation.
Many big pharma companies lay off thousand workers but specially create few jobs just for "biologics".
If you are looking for a biotech job, build your skills in biologics, your chance will be much higher.
Well It may be easy to tell people go and get trained, I guess You are in biologics Alex, but what about the people close to retire, others with no money to pay for education..
wouldn't be better to split in generics and biologics so you can access both markets.
