Lilly faces a delay in rolling out Arxxant
Analysts say that the FDA's approvable letter for Eli Lilly's diabetic eye disease therapy Arxxant spells a big delay. Lilly says it will meet with the FDA before it determines whether or not it will mount a new trial of Arxxant. But for many that was no great surprise. Lilly moved for an approval with just one efficacy study instead of two because it was addressing an unmet medical need. Prospective sales of Arxxant have been pegged at around $500 million.
