Lacosamide posts positive results in Phase III
Germany's Schwarz Pharma announced that a pivotal trial of Lacosamide for diabetic neuropathic pain demonstrated statistically significant results and added that the drug will be submitted for approval in Europe and the U.S. The drug was generally well tolerated. Earlier this week Schwarz announced that Lacosamide had also performed well in a Phase III trial for epilepsy, with the drug reducing the frequency of seizures. Both indications have a combined peak sales potential of 900 million euros.
