Korean scientist faked all evidence of stem cell cloning
A research panel for Seoul National University says that Dr. Hwang Woo-suk fabricated all the evidence used to support a claim he cloned embryonic stem cells. The conclusion destroys any shred of evidence that he had made a major breakthrough in science, as he had claimed earlier in 2005. Researchers had hoped that there was some data to back up his cloning claim. The panel's final report delivers a black eye to Korea after the country had championed Hwang as a symbol of its advance in science.
