HGS reveals $230M gamble in new manufacturing facility

Human Genome Sciences has taken the wraps off of its brand new, $230 million manufacturing plant. The facility in Rockville, Maryland is the fourth-largest of its kind on the East Coast and represents a big gamble for HGS. The biotech won't get FDA approval to operate before next year, and it was built in anticipation of regulatory approval of new drugs still in the pipeline.
