Georgia sees life sciences growth

A new report suggests that the life sciences industry created more than 62,000 new jobs in Georgia last year. As the state prepares to host the annual BIO meeting next month, the University of Georgia's Selig Center for Economic Growth in the Terry College of Business cast the usual broad net to come up with the numbers, adding jobs in R&D along with staff at medical and diagnostic laboratories, surgical appliance and supplies manufacturing, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The report says that a lack of financing and a shortage of skilled managers has blunted growth of the industry. Report
