Experimental oral contraceptive looks promising for men

Researchers at Columbia University say they have been making distinct progress with a preclinical contraceptive pill for men. By interrupting the body's ability to process vitamin A the investigators say that they were able to prevent production of sperm without interfering with long-term fertility. The body does require vitamin A for vision, but the investigators say their approach shouldn't interfere with anyone's eyesight. The next step will be testing the treatment in men. Report
